The letters in the file are mainly related to business and in particular his time working in Essex Castle, Carrickmacross.

Workhouse accounts

Two volumes March 1857- September 1870 and 25 March 1871-29 September 1878, of workhouse accounts for the Borrisokane, Kildysart, Nenagh, Parsonstown, and Roscrea Poor Law Unions.

The account books were put together and kept by Henry Trench due to his involvement with the Poor Law Unions.

Henry was also the most involved of the Trench family in Offaly and Tipperary communities. As a result of this local affairs are covered in some of these letters.
