Eileen Muriel Smith, daughter of John Cairns Ebenezer Smith (b. 1858) and Jane Davison (1861-1934) was born 1 February 1886 in County Waterford, Ireland. She married Theodore Cronhelm Tobias (1876-1959) in Dublin on 18 October 1913. They had four children: James Matthew Howard Tobias (1914-2000); Helen Margaret Tobias (1917-2011); Eirene Davison Galway Tobias (1919-2015); and Barbara Elizabeth Tobias (1924-1996). Eileen Muriel Tobias died in Dublin on 10 August 1984.

They had six children: Mary Cairns Isabel Smith (1884-1977); Eileen Muriel Smith (1886-1984); Frank Smith (1891-1978); Anna Marguerite Smith (1897-1983); Mabel Marion Smith (1898-1984); and Donald Smith (b. 1899). Jane Smith left her husband John sometime after the birth of their sixth child, and moved to America, where she worked for the Cunard Steamship Company Limited. Jane Smith died 15 October 1934, and was buried in Peekskill, Westchester, New York, United States of America.
