William Cronhelm, second son of Frederic William Cronhelm (1787-1871) and Elizabeth Wigney (1794-1846), was born 10 August 1814 in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, England. In 1846 he lived at 13 Bank Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire. William Cronhelm died 6 May 1885 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England.
Sheldon Usher, son of Mister Usher and Elizabeth Neville, was born in the year 1811. His father died when he was very young, and his mother remarried to Sir Edward William Crosbie, 6th Baronet (1794-1860), in 1821. In September of 1824 he wrote his father requesting permission to join the Navy.
