Death of Langlois Lefroy.

Statement of accounts of the estate of Langlois Massy Lefroy deceased from 5 April 1957 to 16 June 1959. In his will dated 24th August 1926 the deceased appointed Sheelah Lefroy as his sole executor and beneficiary.
The statement and an accompanying letter explain how each of Langlois Lefroy's financial assets were dealt with.

Letters from Whitney, Moore, & Keller, solicitors, 34 Kildare Street, Dublin to Sheelah Lefroy in the aftermath of her husband's death.
The majority of the letters within the file deal with the legal ramifications and requirements resulting from Langlois' death. Topics covered include Langlois' will, the transfer and payment of shares, Loughton farm accounts, leasing 56 Grafton Street, Dublin, Sheelah's will, timber moneys and grazing rents owed to Langlois Lefroy and death duty issues such as establishing domicile in England or Ireland.

Files of letters received by Theodora Trench from 1953 until 1957.

The majority of the letters were sent by Sheelah Lefroy and covered topics such as arranging meetings, her Langlois' health, birthday wishes and Sheelah's attempt to straighten the main road. In 1957 Sheelah discusses her husband's heart attack which eventually led to his death.

The letters in the file include a reference for Mr. Yeats from W. Y Chisholm, Estate office, Athy Street, Carlow; a reference for Alexander Gamage, from C. Howard Bury managing director of the Charleville estate company and a letter from Jacqueline [?] regarding her move to Greece, her new apartment and her child. Other letters within the file include a letter from the Department of Education regarding the appointment of Mrs Harton as temporary school principal and a letter from Derick [?], Falla Street, Paraparaumu Beach, New Zealand.

Pageant and costumes.

Photographs and negatives taken of Sheelah Lefroy and Geordie [?] in costume prior to their attendance at Westminster market. Langlois Massy Lefroy is also pictured taking a photograph of Geordie. The file also contains photographs and negatives of Sheelah, Langlois and an unidentified male in costume for a pageant.

Embroidery.

File of embroidered work carried out by the Trench family.
The file includes three embroidered sashes decorated with flowers and autumnal colours, an embroidered purse and an embroidered baby's shoe.

An Tóstal - captions for display

Box of index cards comprising the captions which were used to display artefacts, photographs, and documents during An Tóstal exhibitions in 1953 and 1954. The numbers on the cards correspond with the catalogue of exhibits ( See P87/1/2) and also contain details of the donors of the artefacts. Also contains cards relating to artefacts temporarily loaned to the exhibition and not listed in the official catalogue, particularly a quantity of War of Independence era militaria, much of which was donated by former Irish Volunteers Peadar Bracken and Alo O'Brennan.
