Reply from Patterson overleaf states that he hopes that Lord Downshire will accept £100 for the holding (6 May 1922).
Also includes a printed notice of Merrey's attendance at the Downshire Office, Edenderry for the collection of rents (1 May 1924).

Birr Castle Workmen's Daybook

Small bound notebook, ruled for tracking wages of casual labourers. Lists names of workmen, the number of days per week (out of six days) worked, rate of wages and amount earned. Also includes notes on pay increases or bonuses earned. Although there is no mention of the type of work, all employees are male.

Papers, notes, publications, and artefacts mainly relating to the hosting in 1953 and 1954 of an exhibition of Offaly's history and archaeology in Tullamore as part of An Tóstal, a national festival celebrating Irish culture. Fr Hurley, or An tAth Seosamh Ó Murthuile as he was also known, was the chief organiser for the exhibition, and collected and schematically displayed original artefacts, manuscripts and illustrations detailing Offaly's history from pre-historic times to the modern era.

The remainder of the collection relates to non-Tóstal related notes, publications and ephemera from 1903-1962.

Lists and revisions describing objects, or illustrations, in Irish and English, with notes also on the donor of the object to the exhibition.

Printer's proofs with revisions and amendments of the same exhibition, held again with minor changes in 1954.

Souvenir programme for the Tullamore 1954 exhibition, listing some of the discoveries that were brought to the fore as a result of the exhibition in 1953.
