Minutes of King's County Council, notable for the annual meeting of 19 June 1920 when Eamonn Bulfin was elected Chairman in absentia, having been deported to Argentina in 1919 following internment by the British government. The same meeting also recorded a proposal put forward by James O'Connor that the elected members of the Council change the name of King's County Council to that of Offaly County Council, with all printed matter in connection with the Council to bear the new title. The vice chairman, John Kelly, observed that King's County was one of the counties 'bearing a name which shows the track of the invader' and that it was time to revive the ancient and illustrious title of Offaly.' The motion proposed by O'Connor was seconded by Robbins and resolved. In the minutes of 25 November (Minute Book 4 OFCC10/4/1/4), correspondence was submitted from the Local Government Board stating that the Council had no power to change the name of the county from King's County to Offaly but the minutes do not record any further action taken on the matter.
Digby Estate Valuation and Survey

Survey and valuation of the Digby estate completed by Michael Cuddehy, land surveyor, for Lord Digby, on 3 January 1798 and a further valuation on 25 June 1799 listing lands in the barony of Geashill that are out of lease. Townlands surveyed in the initial valuation are listed in Cuddehy's accompanying note as Annaharvey, Ballymooney, Ballyknockan, Ballycue and Ballyduff, although only those of Ballycue and Ballyduff are extant. The valuation is tabular, listing tenants' names, a description of their holdings (e.g. 'moory pasture', 'oat field', 'big fallow field' etc.), a measurement in A.R.P (acres, roods, perches) and a yearly value.

The second list entitled 'Lands in the Barony of Geashill out of lease except the parts disposed of as herein 25 June 1799' contain a list of the townlands Annaharvey, Ballymooney, Ballycue, Bluebell, Ballyduff , Dalgan, Ballydownan, Curragh, Killellery, Ballyavill, Cappincur, Kinockballyboy, Ballinagar, Killleigh, Scrub, Killeenmore, and Killurin. Each description is accompanied by a reference number for a map by Cuddehy which is not extant. There are also comments by Cuddehy on certain plots such as 'Darby Smollen declared tenant' in respect of a plot in Ballydownan and he notes that Cuddehy himself is proposed for a plot in Ballymooney of 149 acres.

Photocopy of letter from William Perkinson, Croghan, to his brother-in-law, John Monaghan, Lanervase County, Michigan, US. Describes financial difficulties of the family, the fall in value of family home and the great distress suffered in the locality. "There is no wonder made of death here". He writes also of his hope to emigrate to America.

Photocopy of letter from William Parkinson, Widnes, Lancashire, England to his cousin John Monaghan, thanking John for his letter and remarking that he had found his address in an old book of his father's, and remembers the correspondence of the previous generation. He asks after the Herrig and Dewan families originally from Cloghan who had emigrated many years previously. Repeats his intention to move to America and asks for assistance.
