Draft letters to Dean Monaghan PP

Undated handwritten draft address to Dean Monaghan PP from the teachers and pupils of Banagher National School on the occasion of his visit to the school. Address notes, 'the beautiful school in which we at present stand is in itself a lasting testimony of your untiring efforts to secure for us, one of the greatest of earthly blessings, a sound Catholic Education.'

Class enrolments

Typed letter of 20th November 1926 of E. J. Delahunty, Secretary Offaly Joint Committee of Technical Education to R. H. Moore regarding enrolment for classes at Banagher. Letter notes that the small enrolment for Miss O'Mahoney's classes 'raise a very serious question regarding the continuance of the school as a Technical School'. With typed note of 13th December 1926 regarding payment of salaries and bonus by cheque.

Electric lighting in Birr

Typescript letter from Local Government Board of R. H. Moore member of Birr No. 1 Rural District Council stating that a Rural District Council is a local authority under The Electric Lighting Acts and that it is not necessary for them to obtain urban powers for the electric lighting of any part of their district.

Banagher Market announcement

Printed notice in relation to Banagher Market to be held on first Friday in November by order of R. H. Moore, Hon. Secretary of Banagher Fairs and Improvement Committee.

Correspondence W. T. Trench

Undated letter from W. T. Trench, Redwood, Birr referring to forestalling and that such a procedure amounted to an organised attempt against the patentees' rights. Refers also to forthcoming hearing in Birr.
With draft reply of 8th September from R. H. Moore informing that the committee had decided the previous month to send two men to Birr to watch the court proceedings.
Request Trench to send two to other men, 'My committee deem such action absolutely necessary to check forestalling'.

Letter to President Cosgrave thanking after Banagher Relief Grant

Draft letter from R. H. Moore Banagher to President Cosgrave Leinster House on behalf of Banagher Improvement Committee thanking him for the kind and sympathetic way that he had received a deputation the previous February. Letter goes on to note works completed as a result of the Relief Grant Scheme.

W. Callan arranging for settlement of refugee family

Typewritten letter from Walter Callan, Executive Refugee Committee at Secretary's Office, King's County, regarding arrangements for placement of two families of refugees in Banagher and Ferbane. Letter asks for details from Moore as to how much he Banagher committee had raised in subscriptions 'in order to be able to gauge roughly what charge is likely to fall to central funds'.
