Personalised diary belonging to Dora Turnor.The diary was a 'gift from 'Etty [Hyeris] X-mas 1888' and is emblazoned with 'Dora' on the front cover.

The diary contains just one entry from 1 January 1888.

Photocopy of a fragment of a letter from William Parkinson in Widnes, Lancashire, to his cousin, John Monaghan, in Michigan, introducing himself and his family, and asks after news of their aunts in common, Judy Duwan (nee Monaghan) Bridget Harrison (née Monaghan), all of whom had emigrated to America, and where he would like to emigrate to in the future.

From 1917 until 1919 Theodora volunteered as Chauffeuse with the Red Cross's Voluntary Aid Detachment. Throughout the early diaries she writes about her experiences resulting from this volunteer work and the responsibilities she was required to carry out. Examples of such entries include one she wrote on 18 January 1918 she writes 'Evacuation 4.45 am breakfast 4.15. Cleaned engine a little. 1.30 went to Richmond football match & Austin lunchtime.' Another example includes an entry from 12 January 1919 'On duty all day (night duty) inspection 11.30'.
Theodora also uses the diaries to record her her daily life. On 5 February 1921 she records attending a concert, 'Concert Albert Hall (Samson & Delilah)' and on 23 may 1922 she writes about going to the Chelsea Flower show 'S & I went to Chelsea Flower Show. Very hot & [humid] but beautiful flowers...'.

The notebook contains drawings of Château de Pau, France; San Sebastián from the Citadel Spain 9th July 1879; The mouth of Bidassoa, Spain; La Pointe de Castel-Vieil; Dawlish Devon in England; Battle Abbey, East Sussex, England; and Bodiam Castle, Sussex, England.

Copy correspondence between two generations of Perkinson and Monaghan family members, all connected with Croghan, near Birr, Co Offaly and the Irish Hills area of the state of Michigan, USA. Following the devastation of the Great Famine, John Monaghan emigrated firstly to Suffolk and then to Michigan, where he received letters from his sister, Mary and her husband William Perkinosn, pleading for assistance to also enable their family emigrate to America. The correspondence describes the effect of famine and emigration on the Croghan area. Their son William, who emigrated to Lancashire, also writes to his cousin in Michigan of the second generation with much the same request.

The file also contains photographs and negatives of Sheelah, Langlois and an unidentified male in costume for a pageant.

He asks after the Herrig and Dewan families originally from Cloghan who had emigrated many years previously. Repeats his intention to move to America and asks for assistance.
