Minute Book of Banagher Bazaar Committee.
Fist meeting held in the Technical School Sunday 15th February 1919.
Matters dealt with include arrangements for the holding of a Bazaar, election of a lady president and purchase of prizes.

Newspaper clippings - school, railway and Banagher Great Fair

This scrapbook comprises mostly of pasted in newspaper clippings on a diverse range of topics.
It includes, for example an account of visit to Banagher Boys National School of Rev Dr Monaghan, PP, Dean of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise.
There is a printed petition to Great Southern and Western Railways regarding proposed discontinuance of services from Banagher to Clara, and several published letters relating to promotion of Banagher Great Fair.
Includes also, letter dated 15th May 1906 on the importance of compulsory education and account of the funeral of the Rev. M. J. Moore S. J. in October 1936.

Correspondence W. T. Trench

Undated letter from W. T. Trench, Redwood, Birr referring to forestalling and that such a procedure amounted to an organised attempt against the patentees' rights. Refers also to forthcoming hearing in Birr.
With draft reply of 8th September from R. H. Moore informing that the committee had decided the previous month to send two men to Birr to watch the court proceedings.
Request Trench to send two to other men, 'My committee deem such action absolutely necessary to check forestalling'.

Memo to R. H. Moore from W. T. Trench, Redwood, Birr stating that he thinks the practice of selling elsewhere than at the fair will be difficult to break.

Memo from R. H. Moore Banagher to the Chairman of Banagher Fairs Committee. Letter notes 'should your committee decide tonight to continue its useful work, I again ask you to appoint somebody to act as secretary in my place'.
