Francis Lamb was born in 1756, in County Cork. He first married Mary Rice (d. 1799), and they had eight children, of whom only James Lamb and John Rice Lamb lived to adulthood. Secondly he married Sarah Duke (d. 1815), and they had four children, of whom three lived to adulthood: Francis Lamb (b. 1805), William Lamb (1803-1823), and Mary Lamb (b. 1807). Francis Lamb died 16 Jan 1808, and was buried in Saint Nicholas Churchyard in Cork City, County Cork.
