Rules of the Banagher Cycle and Athletic Club

Printed 'Rules of the Banagher Bicycle & Athletic Club' for season 1900-1901 in booklet form. States that the object and aim of the club is to promote cycling and other healthy outdoor exercises including the game of handball.

Letter from J. P. Bowles, Hon. Sec. of Banagher Gaelic League requesting a contribution towards the upkeep of the Gaelic Hall (September 5th).
Includes also Letter from an [S Willington], St Kiernan's, Birr to R. H. Moore agreeing to let the Fairs Committee hold a Fair in the fairgreen in August and stating that he cannot allow the schoolboys to play football 'as it allowed other children to come in and break down fences' (2pp).
With draft reply in the hand of R. H. Moore stating that the children 'two thirds of whom are barefoot are under my own and that of my assistant's observation' (1p).

Undated letter from W. T. Trench, Redwood, Birr referring to forestalling and that such a procedure amounted to an organised attempt against the patentees' rights. Refers also to forthcoming hearing in Birr.
With draft reply of 8th September from R. H. Moore informing that the committee had decided the previous month to send two men to Birr to watch the court proceedings.
Request Trench to send two to other men, 'My committee deem such action absolutely necessary to check forestalling'.

Draft Ms proposal of Banagher Fairs & Improvements Committee calling for 'efforts to preserve and protect the Banagher Great Fair and calling also for an end to 'The pernicious practice of forestalling or pre-buying'.

Correspondence posting of Banagher Fair posters

Ms letter from Adam Mitchell & Son to R. H. Moore referring to posters which have been sent to be posted in Banagher, Eyrecourt and Shannonbridge, and suggests that they be posted 'at conspicuous places at crossroads in the neighbourhoods'.
