Notas

Croghan, in the barony of Lower Ormond, Co Tipperary, is a small townland on the border with County Offaly. Its nearest town is Birr and it was in the Poor Law Union of Parsonstown (Birr). Many of the letters in this correspondence give the postal address as 'Croughan, Birr, King's County'. Not to be confused with the County Offaly townland of Croghan, in the barony of Lower Philipstown.
